Apprenticeship USA · 24–48 months
Registered Apprenticeship Program
Our Winder Apprenticeship Program is a Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) under the federal Apprenticeship USA program. Over 24 to 48 months you rotate between our Motor Shop and Field Services divisions, work on projects from single repairs to multi-year government programs, travel across the USA with potential international assignments, and are mentored daily by skilled tradesmen and Site Leads. On completion you are placed in a Winder A/B/C position with a defined path for advancement.

- Pass a drug screening (Sidewinders is a drug-free employer)
- Able to wear a respirator
- Able to work in potentially hazardous environments, with training

Yes. We hire motivated apprentices and pair them with senior winders and field engineers. Training covers OEM rewind procedures, electrical testing, machining, vibration, alignment, and safety certifications.

Yes. Field roles include per diem, paid travel time, company vehicles or vehicle allowance, and overtime — most field crews travel across Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, Colorado, Arizona, and federal hydro projects nationwide.
